The National Coffee Association of USA adopts CS technology to facilitate coffee producers compliance vs. C-TPAT security guidelines

The National Coffee Association of USA, gathering 70 largest importers (Kraft, WalMart, McDonald’s, Starbucks...) has adopted CS technology to facilitate coffee producers compliance vs. C-TPAT guidelines defined by the US Customs.

Coffee producers connect to the solution to fill an online questionnaire and then benchmark vs. guidelines and also other respondents. In the post-September 11 world, the threat of terrorism makes ‘business as usual’ a thing of the past,’ said NCA President & CEO Robert F. Nelson, “and NCA is taking the lead to help the US industry partner with government to protect our food supply efficiently and effectively. Trade associations like the NCA are uniquely positioned to spearhead activities that enable the industry to work together, noncompetitively, toward enhancing national security. As such, NCA will encourage all coffee importing companies and members of the supply chain to participate in this initiative.

CS is privileged to collaborate with the NCA on their leadership and support for a safer, more efficient importing process for the US coffee and global trade industry.

With more than 6,000 companies that have been certified to join C-TPAT, this partnership symbolizes an important step forward by leading industry groups to partner with importer members and international suppliers to pioneer methods resulting in greater assurance, risk control and efficiency for all trading participants across the international supply chain.

The tool features innovative functions such as instantaneous geolocalisation of suppliers and interactive benchmarking to provide suppliers with useful information about their positioning vs. all other suppliers.
